(fr)

ZAC des Batignolles - Construction of an urban slab of 550 x 70m  Reconstruction of railway infrastructure on the outskirts and under a 35,000 m² urban slab

Chur West station-bridge  Engineering competition : New railway station Chur West, crossing Raschärenstrasse

(fr)

Abondant 3 - Construction of a low-energy house  The garden and its house, a spatial continuum.
Three principles have significantly determined the development of the project.

1. energy efficiency: geothermal energy, use of natural solar radiation and efficient thermal insulation.
2. perceptible and functional continuity of the living space beyond the building envelope.
3. integration into the context through the analysis and reinterpretation of local typologies.

The chosen cross-section profile, a roof that sits directly on the ground, is inspired by traditional agricultural buildings of the region, whose flat tiled roofs become the façade.
This cross-section profile is relatively compact. It offers a low envelope-to-volume ratio, favouring the thermal insulation of the building.

The orientation of the building favours the relationship to the south.
The north façade on the site boundary consists of a large tile roof pitched at 45°. Heavily insulated, it protects the building and the garden from the prevailing rain winds and cold.
The south façade opens onto the landscape garden. It has a 60° slope to make the most of passive solar radiation. The façade is equipped with devices that allow the incoming radiation to be regulated in winter and blocked in summer.

The spatial continuity between inside and outside is emphasised by the arrangement of small volumes (sanitary facilities, outdoor workshop, outdoor bicycle shelter), fixed furniture (kitchen sideboard and cupboard for the heating system), by the continuity of the floor, the continuity of the wooden structure, echoes to indoor elements outside, such as the lighting fixtures.
Even in winter, when the windows are closed, the perception of the living space is extended. It extends to the boundaries of the garden.
